Kira Koch

Kira Koch is a Health Systems Coordinator at the World Health Organization (WHO) Uganda, where she provides strategic leadership and technical advice to the Ministry of Health to accelerate progress towards Universal Health Coverage. She oversees WHO’s health systems portfolio, including health policy, planning and governance, health financing, health workforce, access to essential medicines and health products, and the delivery of quality, integrated health services across the life course. Her work includes supporting the development of Uganda’s new Health Workforce Strategy and providing guidance on health workforce management, education, and retention strategies.

Prior to this role, Kira worked at WHO Headquarters in the Health Systems Governance and Financing Department and the Special Programme on Primary Health Care, where she focused on advancing participatory governance to promote inclusive decision-making and strengthening health systems performance assessment to inform evidence-based policy and drive improvements in health outcomes.
