Dr Cheikh Fall
Dr Cheikh Fall is a microbiologist and researcher at the Institut Pasteur de Dakar, Department of Microbiology, with a solid background in routine diagnosis of viral and bacterial pathogens. His research activities are mainly focused on R&D to set up and implement innovative molecular diagnostic toolkits for infectious pathogens. He is also interested on antimicrobial resistance surveillance based on the One Health approach, including AMR genomic surveillance. His department hosted the FAO reference center for AMR and collaborated closely with national and regional stakeholders for AMR surveillance, stewardship, and capacity building. Dr Fall is a member and/or advisor on national and regional working groups on AMR and One Health topics. He leads or co-leads many research projects on AMR and diagnostic topics.
