Prof Ruth Nduati – MBCHB, MMED, MPH

Prof Ruth Nduati – MBCHB, MMED, MPH (Epidemiology), Professor of Paediatrics and Child health, University of Nairobi & Consultant Paediatrician at Kenyatta National Hospital.   A leading HIV researcher in Kenya with more than 100 publications in peer reviewed journal and vast experience in supervision of master’s and doctoral level dissertations and thesis. Prof Nduati has collaborated with colleagues at University of Washington, KNH and her own institution University of Nairobi among others.  She has over the past 20 years led large trials that have not only contributed to knowledge, health policy and current practice guidelines but also brought monetary resources into Kenya.  Prof Nduati has held several grants with her colleagues Prof Dalton Wamalwa and Carey Farquhar which bring together 4 Kenyan Universities to strengthen inter-professions medical education, and pipeline for clinical researcher training at the University of Nairobi and its collaborators.   In 2024 she was the Chair of the Scientific committee for the 7th AFREhealth Conference held in Nairobi.  Nduati has received recognition of her professional achievements including the 2024 National Outstanding Research Awards (NORA) for Lifetime research Award from the National Research Fund Republic of Kenya and inclusion in the Kenya Government publication – Pioneers and Transformers – the Journeys of Women Trailblazers in Kenya – [Kenya Yearbook Editorial Board Biography series]
