Tahir Buhari, CRC, PRINCE2, MBA, is Research Lead at eHealth Africa (EHA Group), based in Kano, Nigeria. A Program Manager and Global Health Researcher with over a decade of experience working at the intersection of immunization systems, cold chain logistics, digital health, and AI research across Nigeria, with a strong focus on building resilient health systems in fragile and hard-to-reach settings.
He leads the Gavi-funded Cold Chain Data Interchange (CCDX) program, in partnership with Nigeria's Federal Ministry of Health and NPHCDA, establishing a unified architecture to integrate cold chain equipment data into downstream country systems (DHIS2 and OpenLMIS). He has led WHO PQS field evaluations of the new-generation cold chain equipment (Metafridge CFD-50 and Indigo Vaccine Carrier), supporting global prequalification and adoption in fragile settings. He also served as Programme Manager for SARMAAN I & II, a Gates Foundation-funded study assessing mass azithromycin administration in over 9 million children across seven Nigerian states.
Tahir leads eHA's growing AI research portfolio. He has mentored more than 3,000 frontline health workers, keeping community engagement and frontline decision-making at the centre of sustainable, climate-resilient health delivery.
